Middle Sea Race 2023

Great training and a very ggod race around the course. Mixed bag of conditions but mainly upwind. Good testing conditions in 30+kts sailing up to Messina. Breeze going from 10 to 32kts very fast and Jonny's weather analysis proving perfect which enabled us to be ahead of the game and prepped for the breeze/gear change. So hull flying conditions all the way up messina through the night and gave us fair tide through the gap. Lighter conditons through the night and next day around Stromboli (which blew some magma for us). Then hull flyinh offf the wind sailing up and around sicily up to Lampadusa, most of which was off the wind and good setup condirtions for seeing transistions to 1 reef / J1 in 19kts gusting 22kts. Then glamour reach to Malta and nice sunny upwind finish into the harbour!

We crossed the finish line of the 2023 Rolex Middle Sea Race at 13:10:42 CEST on Monday 23 October to take Multihull Line Honours in an elapsed time of 2 days 2 hours 10 minutes 42 seconds.

Our crew: Alexia Barrier (skipper), Dee Caffari (co-skipper), Elodie-Jane Mettraux, Marie Riou, Sara Heistreiter, Jonny Malbon, Jeff Mearing, Tom Dawson, Robin Christol.
