Paradox - Transatlantic 2017

We started from Canet, France headed for Barbados via lanzerote. Canet was super hard to leave from as expected in the winter time. Big E sea's blocked us in during December.

We managed to leave just before Xmas by getting someone to call the wave sets at the harbour entrance but due to big sea and debris in the Mediterranean we had no choice but to pull into Barcelona during xmas and wait for the weather system to die down for a week.

We left Barcelona just after xmas on a nice forecast and arrived in Lanzarote on the 2nd Jan after great trip. 40kts of breeze in the Straights of Gibraltar and some cool reaching at 28kts from Morocco to Canaries. New years eve was spent onboard with 1 beer between 4:) but we caught up in the Canaries.

After a week in Lanzarote waiting for the SE breeze to shift back to the N we headed south looking for breeze and ended up stopping in Cape Verde due to a bit on man flu onboard. After getting a nice rest for the night in Cape Verde we headed for Barbados with the flattest sea's you could dream of on the Atlantic. Breeze was 12-16kts. Must have caught about 300 flying fish on deck during the trip. They find it hard to believe they get caught by a net in the air:)

Very chilled out crossing.
